Today, the Office of the Budget Director is unveiling a brand-new Budget Lookup Tool to help members, staff, and the public understand the District’s budget in more detail. This lookup tool will make in-depth budget data more transparent and accessible both during the budget formulation and throughout the fiscal year. By using this tool, you will be able to look up budget numbers for any District agency by Agency/Program/Activity/Service/CSG/Fund Type and compare FY 2020 Actuals to FY2021 Approved. We hope this tool will help you conduct budget queries in a fraction of the time that it would take to flip through the budget books. We have also created a Resource Guide that is linked at the top of the Budget Look-up Tool’s landing page.
The Budget Lookup Tool will allow you to navigate through an agency budget to select and analyze its components. You’ll see the results in real-time.
The tool currently shows actual expenditures from FY 2020 and the FY 2021 approved budget. The data will be updated three times throughout the year:
When the Mayor proposes the FY 2022 budget
When the Council approves the FY 2022 budget
When the CAFR is released to reflect FY 2021 actual expenditures
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, and don’t forget to review the Resource Guide that is linked at the top of the Budget Look-up Tool’s landing page for more information on how to use the tool.
Thank you! Jen Budoff
